LEEP Procedure

Minimally invasive treatment for abnormal cervical cells, removing the affected tissue to prevent the progression of cervical cancer.

Overview

The Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) is a minimally invasive treatment that removes abnormal cells from your cervix to prevent cervical cancer development. It's designed for patients with dysplasia (abnormal cell growth). Cervical cells naturally grow and change continuously, but dysplasia occurs when this growth process becomes abnormal. Risk factors include smoking and STD exposure, particularly HPV.
